I do not know you Sally, Colin and Jamie but saw this on the news just before I went to bed. I have
a son myself his age. Breaks my heart to think what you are all going through right now. So did this
to let you know that there are so many people who are thinking of you and your family and Roberts
friends right now. I hope that in some small way this will help
you draw strength from those who show that they care.
Much love from one mother to another. big hug. x
A talented young actor with his whole life ahead of him. He will be seen in the new Harry Potter
film. Playing Marcus Belby.
How many more young people are going to die on the streets of Great Britain. I am so shocked as a
mother myself to keep reading of the total waste of young lives. Something has to be done to change
this awful culture we seem to be living with right now.
Please do light a candle for Robert and leave your messages for his family. They need as much
support as possible right now to try and get through this terrible time.
Thank you so much to everyone who has left messages on the site and lite candles. Please do not just
read it, please do lite a candle. Let the world know how sick we are of this knife crime. It has to
be stopped. How many more parents are going to have to go through this pain. As a mother of 4 and
grandmother of 1, I worry everyday for my children. It always seems to be the good kids that go. I
think it is time that the law was changed and as others have said you get life for a knife. Lets
hope that one day this be will be so. I would also like to say that I am also thinking of all the
others who got injured that night too. I do hope that you all make a speedy recovery and that the
rest of your life is not ruined by the memory of this sad sad night.
update:
Man charged with murder and wounding five

A 21-year-old unemployed man was last night charged with the murder of Robert Knox, the young actor
who was stabbed to death in Kent on Saturday trying to protect his younger brother.
Karl Bishop, from Sidcup, has also been charged with five counts of wounding another five people -
including four teenagers and one man in his 20s - on the same night.

He will appear at Bexleyheath Magistrates Court this morning.

The victim's grandmother, Margaret Knox, said parents must take responsibility for instilling
respect in their children, and called on the Government to "start getting tough" with
those who carry weapons by jailing them.

These are the reports from the papers.
AN 18-year-old actor in the forthcoming Harry Potter film has been stabbed to death while
intervening in a fight outside a London bar.

Rob Knox, who plays student Marcus Belby in Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince, due out in
November, was killed overnight in a scuffle in the southeastern suburb of Sidcup.

The Sun reports the fight broke out over a dispute over a mobile phone.

Police said a 21-year-old man had been arrested on suspicion of murder.

Film producers Warner Bros said: "We are all shocked and saddened by this news and at this time
our sympathies are with his family."

Knox's parents Colin and Sally said: "Rob was kind and thoughtful and would always help
out others.

"The life and soul of the party, he was very outgoing, loved sports, and would always strike up
a conversation with people.

"He was respectful to others and adored by all his family and friends."

A man came to the bar in Sidcup armed with two knives and was seen waving one of them around through
the window.

A scuffle broke out and Knox and his brother Jamie were reportedly trying to protect each other.

Several others sustained knife wounds.

The brothers' friends Tom Hopkins, 18, and Tarik Ozress, 17, managed to pin the armed man down,
wrestling with him for several minutes before police arrived.

Hopkins, who was stabbed in the head, said: "Rob was just trying to help out. He was like that.
I grabbed the knife, I didn't know at the time that he had another knife. It was just
chaos."

Knox was taken to hospital and pronounced dead.

The fatal stabbing takes to 14 the number of teenagers violently killed in the British capital this
year.

By Sky News SkyNews - 51 minutes agoFriends of a young actor who had worked on the new Harry Potter
film have paid tribute to the 18-year-old and expressed shock at another teenage death in London.

Rob Knox was killed when he and four friends became involved in a scuffle with a man armed with two
knives outside the Metro Bar in Sidcup.

A stream of messages on networking website Facebook pay tribute to the "smashing lad" who
"knew how to make everyone laugh and had a great personality".

Others express concerns about another young death in the capital - the 14th so far this year.

One wrote: "It's not right. This is getting way too close to home. RIP Rob."

Rob died just a few miles from where 16-year-old Jimmy Mizen was killed in Lee two weeks ago.

Jimmy and Rob, who plays Ravenclaw student Marcus Belby in the forthcoming Harry Potter And The
Half-Blood Prince, both played for Sidcup Rugby Club.

Club president Phil West said: "We're still mourning for Jimmy and now we've got a
second victim. It's absolutely devastating."

In a statement the young actor's parents, Colin and Sally Knox, described their son as
"the life and soul of the party".

"Rob was kind and thoughtful and would always help out others - he would always spend his last
penny on other people instead of himself," they said.

Sky reporter Kitty Logan said the murder has shocked the local community. "It's difficult
for people to comprehend," she said.

She said: "Rob and his friends were not involved in drugs or guns or crime, they were just
enjoying a night out."

Lyn Costello, of Mothers Against Murder and Aggression, told Sky News it would not be fair to blame
Government policies for the youngster's death.

"We must all take responsibility for what is happening to young people," she said.

A post-mortem is being carried out to determine the exact cause of Rob's death.

The four friends who were wounded in the incident are said to be recovering from their injuries.

Police have arrested a 21-year-old man on suspicion of murder.

YOUR NEARLY 20!!!
I'm meant to be taking the piss out of you for nearly becoming a proper adult, not being a teenager any more, but I can't. It may have been over a year but I still forget sometimes and go to ring you, or text you, and then i remember what happened. I've never been so proud as when I first saw you on screen in Harry Potter. I remember you telling me about the profiterole scene, but it was even funnier than you said!

I miss you so much still. Some days are ok but some days its hard to carry on knowing your not here, and knowing what happened. I want you to know I will never forget you. And I will never be as proud of anyone else as I am of you.

And dont forget you still owe me a lift home from Sidcup! AND you promised you would get me a fancy present for my birthday, i'm still waiting OK? Maybe one day....

So the trial is over and justice has prevaled - I pray that your parents, brother, family, and many friends can now remember the happy times that they shared with you. Knowing that no other family will have to go through the terrible loss of a loved one at the hands of Bishop.

Words are never enough

Words are never enough when grief is so heavy, I know that Rob’s friends loved him dearly and along with his family are feeling the burden of grief. I am witnessing first hand how my daughter her friends are devastated and traumatised by the senseless murder of Rob,
She said that evening they were all having a great time as they did together most weekends.
They will never get over the loss of Rob I only hope that they will find the strength of youth to keep positive thoughts and kindness for the sake of their sanity and his memory.
My heartfelt deepest sympathy will always be with you all

R.I.P

Lauren July 3, 2008

Another life taken too soon. I cant believe the world we live in today, or is it just this country. People just seem to be doing what they want, to whoever they want. People are not afraid of anything, especially prison, as they only serve a couple of years and are back out again, even for taking someone's life. This country is a joke. I hope this guy who has done this gets life, why should he be let out and carry on living when Rob and his family can't carry on with theirs. I send my deepest sympathy to the family, and just hope you can try and live your lives the way Rob would have wanted you to. RIP Rob. xxxxx
